Robert Eu

Robert Eu has been an active business professional in Asia since 1987.  In addition to being an Associate of Global Strategic Associates, LLC since its inception, he is Chairman at Eu Yan Sang International Ltd, a company listed on the Singapore stock exchange, and focused on this company’s initiatives in China.  Eu Yan Sang is Asia’s leading healthcare company with a core focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative healthcare. Robert is also Chairman & CEO of AEX Enterprises, a Hong Kong-based financial services firm whose main operating subsidiary until December 2010 was Boom Securities, a leading Hong Kong online brokerage firm. Robert also serves as a board member of SGOCO Groups Ltd.

Robert has been making private equity investments in Asia since 1993. He is a Managing Partner for Hambrecht Eu Capital Management, which oversees a portfolio of seven private equity investments made on behalf of various family office entities since 1996.  The portfolio represents a group of long term investments with which Robert is active in terms of strategic advice and governance. Six of the portfolio companies are now public companies. Robert also currently sits on the board of Top Tier Capital Partners, a private equity asset management firm managing niche-focused fund of funds and co-investment opportunities.

From 1998 until 2010, Robert was a Managing Director at WR Hambrecht + Co, a U.S.-based investment bank, where he built a successful agency business assisting growth companies from China raise capital via U.S. listings. Robert is still involved with WRH + Co as an investor and Advisory Director. From 1993-1998, he was a Managing Director of H&Q Asia Pacific, a leading Asian private equity firm. Robert also worked for Citibank NA Hong Kong.

Mr. Eu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University.
