Swiss Ruijin Li

 

Swiss Li is an Senior Associate of Global Strategic Associates, LL involved in all areas of operations, business development, and client relations throughout Asia, with particular emphasis on the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Swiss has over 30 years of business experience in China, having working with firms from the U.S., Europe, and all over Asia as well as multiple PRC government agencies. Most recently prior to joining GSA, he served as a Managing Director for Business Development at Kroll, a Marsh  & McLellan company, one of the world’s leading risk management firms. In this capacity he oversaw risk prevention and analysis across a number of sectors in Southern China as well as pre-transaction due diligence for IPO’s, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.

Before Kroll, Swiss served as the Manager of Chinese Operations for Weil Brothers Cotton, one of the largest cotton merchandising and trading firms in the world. In this role, he opened and led the firm’s Chinese head office in Beijing as well as satellite offices in Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Xiaogan-Wuhan. He grew sales from zero to over a quarter billion U.S. dollars within seven years, all the while maintaining relations with relevant government agencies and trade organizations.

Swiss also served as the General Manager of ATC International, Beijing, a U.S.-based trading and consulting firm assisting international firms in designing and executing Chinese business strategies. For ATC, he managed entry into the Chinese market for firms from the aerospace, automotive, oilfield services, petroleum, and machine tool industries, building long-term relationships with Chinese partners and government agencies. Following Citibank’s purchase of ATC, Swiss continued similar work on behalf of Citibank in China.

Swiss holds a BA from Nanjing University, an MA in Economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and an EMBA from Qinghua University.
